Nawada: Officiating headmaster of Nawada-based Girls Middle School Mathura Yadav, who was roughed up by the girl students for allegedly molesting a Class VIII schoolgirl on Friday, was shifted to Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) for treatment on Saturday.
“Yadav, who complained of blurred vision, loss of hearing and severe headache, was shifted to PMCH due to lack of CT scan machine at Nawada sadar hospital,” said R N Singh, deputy superintendent of the hospital.Nawada Mahila Thana SHO Sushma Kumari said an FIR under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012 (Posco) and Section 354 of the IPC had been registered against Yadav. Jailor of Nawada jail Babu Ram Hembrom said Yadav would be lodged in jail once he returns from PMCH.

Nawada district education officer (DEO) Gorakh Prasad said departmental action against Yadav would be initiated if the authorities concerned ask the department to do so. He added that a regular headmaster would be recruited in the school in June. “As a stop-gap arrangement, I have asked the senior most teacher of the school to assume charge,” he added.Nawada SP Vikas Burman said police forces have been deployed at the Girls Middle School to instil confidence among the students and their parents.He said home guard jawans have also been deployed at the Kasturba Girls School where mahadalit girls reside in hostels. Kasturba School is located on the outskirts of the town.
