The Patna police on Monday arrested four contraband smugglers, including a woman, with 500 gm heroin from the Gandhi Maidan locality in the state capital, a police officer said.Acting on a tip-off, a team of the special intelligence unit and Gandhi Maidan police raided the East Gandhi Maidan locality and nabbed three contraband smugglers and seized a bag containing 500 gm heroin carrying label of ‘Made in Thailand,’ Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Manu Maharaj said.

On information provided by them that the consignment of banned drug was given to them by a woman, the cops arrested her from Nehru Nagar locality, he said.The seized drug was valued at about Rs 50 lakh, Maharaj said.During interrogation of the smugglers, it came to light that some high-profile criminals hailing from Chapra, Gaya and Darbhanga were involved in a drug trafficking racket, the SSP said adding, a probe was on in the matter.
