Two bikers were killed and another was injured on Saturday when their motorcycle collided with a truck near a village on NH-57 in Madhubani district, a police officer said.The mishap took place near Narahiya village as the bike with three occupants, one of them a woman, collided with a truck coming from opposite side, Laukhi police station in-charge Ramchandra Chaupal said.
While two bikers, identified as Firoj Mansuri (38) and Samsul Mansuri (33) died on the spot, a pillion rider Zubeda Khatun sustained severe injuries, he said.The bodies have been sent for post-mortem and the injured woman was admitted to Darbhanga Medical College and Hospital (DMCH).The incident sparked off protest by the local people who blocked NH-57 for an hour demanding arrest of the truck driver and compensation to the aggrieved family, the police officer said.The protesters were later persuaded to remove the blockade.
