Rape accused suspended Rashtriya Janata Dal MLA Raj Ballabh Yadav surrendered before Bihar Sharif Court on Thursday.He has been sent to 14-day judicial custody.

He was accused of allegedly raping a 15-year-old at his residence in Nawada on February 6. He had been absconding after the incident came to light.The Bihar Police seized the property of MLA after a Patna court’s order. Yadav’s residence-cum-party office located at Pathra English locality is under Muffasil police station of Nawada.According to police, the rape accused legislator’s property was attached in compliance with Additional District and Sessions Judge Rashmi Shikha’s order.Police officials said the legislator’s 13 bank accounts have been sealed and police are likely to begin auction process of his plots at different places.The licences of legislator’s rifle, pistol and a double-barrel gun have already been suspended by the district administration, police said. He has also been asked to deposit arms with the concerned police station, failing which his licences would be cancelled.According to the police complaint, a woman, Sulekha Devi, took the girl to an undisclosed location in Nalanda and forced her to have liquor, after which she was raped by a man, later identified as Yadav.After she was raped, the girl said the woman gave her Rs.30,000.
